The South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) held its 2012 Regional Spelling Bee for 3rd - 8th grades on January 19, 2012 at Cathedral Academy in North Charleston.  SCISA member schools, small and large, sent representatives to this meet.  JICS was also represented by 12 of our great students as well.  Other schools that were participating include; Porter Gaud, Mason Prep., Coastal Christian, Palmetto Christian, St. Paul's Academy, Cathedral Academy, First Baptist School, and Charleston Collegiate.

We are so proud of our students!  The JICS representatives amassed enough points in the competition to take 3rd place out of the 9 schools!  Our JICS representatives included; Lydia English, Elsie Obersteadt, Nelson Gibson, Ceanna Kinney, Jake Goodyear, Delma White, Jordan Haeusser, Stephanie Allen, Davis Reeves, Savannah Roper, Davis Haeusser and Savannah Canaday.

JICS also had 3 student representatives that made it to the SCISA State Bee by being a finalist in their grade division! Only 2 students from each grade division were considered finalists.  Ceanna Kinney 4th, Jordan Haeusser 6th, and Davis Reeves 7th, were our JICS finalists that move on to the SCISA State Bee!

Congratulations to our finalists and to all of our JICS Spelling Bee contestants for their 3rd place school finish!
