We exist to provide an opportunity for academic excellence within a Christ-centered environment that complements the teaching of the home and the church.

Our mission is built on four core values:


Christ-Centered

At the heart of everything we do, from our educational approach to our values and daily practices, we take a Christ-centered approach.  This perspective influences how we teach, interact, and develop students, ensuring that faith in Christ shapes the school’s culture, curriculum, and community.


Academically Excellent

We prioritize high educational standards and strive to provide a rigorous, well-rounded academic program. This commitment to excellence ensures that students are challenged to reach their full potential, develop critical thinking skills, and achieve strong academic outcomes. The focus on academic excellence also reflects a dedication to preparing students for future success in higher education and beyond, all while maintaining a Christ-centered approach.


Biblically Based

Our teachings, values, and overall approach to education are grounded in the Bible. This includes using Scripture as the foundation for moral guidance, decision-making, and the development of students' character. Academics, behavior, and spiritual growth are all shaped by biblical principles, with an emphasis on aligning the school’s mission and curriculum with the truths and teachings found in the Bible.


Service-Driven

This is our commitment to encouraging students to serve others, modeling Christ’s example of love and compassion by actively engaging in service projects and helping the community.

Statement of Philosophy

James Island Christian School is all about family. We exist to provide an opportunity for academic excellence within a Christ-centered environment that complements the teaching that is already happening in the home and the church. We know that we are partnering with parents to help kids grow and walk in the purpose they were created for by God. We don’t view JICS kids as just “students” but as future leaders, future husbands and wives, future parents who will someday be raising their own kids in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
