The mission of James Island Christian School is to partner with like-minded families by providing a Christ-centered, academically excellent education that prepares students for a lifetime of service and leadership in their homes, churches, and communities.
Our mission is built on four core values:
Christ-Centered
A Christ-centered foundation influences the culture, curriculum, and community of James Island Christian School. The faculty and staff are authentic followers of Christ who are committed to the spiritual growth and discipleship of every student. JICS desires to bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ through every aspect of school life.
Academically Excellent
JICS is committed to equip every student to successfully pursue God’s calling on their lives and to discover the joy of lifelong learning. This is accomplished by providing an academically rigorous program focused on critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. Graduates of James Island Christian School possess the knowledge and skills needed for future success.
Biblically Based
JICS believes that the Bible is the ultimate source of truth, and as such is the foundation of knowledge and character development. Biblical truth and principles are appropriately integrated at each grade level in all academic disciplines and school programs. A love for God’s Word and a depth of Biblical knowledge is fostered through daily Bible class, weekly chapels, and small group Bible studies.
Service-Driven
The natural response to God’s grace and goodness is to live a life committed to serving others. James Island Christian School intentionally partners with Christian organizations to provide students with opportunities to serve within the community and around the world to further the kingdom of Christ. Through hands-on experiences, students are able to know the joy of sharing the love of Christ by meeting the needs of others.
Accreditation & Affiliation
James Island Christian School has multiple accreditations and affiliations with the Association of Christian Schools International and Cognia. JICS is also a member of The South Carolina Independent School Association.
